No way! I’m the luckiest man in the whole world

That’s not my truck

This is not a middle school flashback about how Susie checked “No” when I slipped her a note asking if she’d go out with me.

Or about the numerous times, I misinterpreted a girl’s kindness as a romantic attraction.

The friendzone is fun until you desperately want to kiss your “friend” so much, it ends up being an exercise in mental futility.

It’s also not about how life favors attractive people — though perhaps creating an enhanced version of ourselves online and existing in a virtual metaverse, will even the playing field.

Until then, we’re all occasionally going to see someone else’s truck in our lover’s driveway.

We’ve all been done wrong.

I didn’t catch her kissing my friend

I would never write a story about how I performed like a circus clown in a vain attempt to make a girl fall in love with me.

This isn’t at all about that awful feeling of being rejected by someone you hoped would love you — not just like you.
