As a strategy, what’s wrong with it?

Before you accuse me of grotesque misogyny, the headline of this article isn’t, “Women Date for Sex and Only Marry Men with Money,” it’s gender neutral.

Let’s begin here: everyone loves money — men, women, and children alike.

There’s nothing wrong with acknowledging that life is infinitely easier with money — particularly now that the average house costs $405,000 and when you tip less than 35%, you’re considered a cheapskate.

Why not play the field and have lots of raunchy, mind-blowing, sex while you’re young? And when you’re finally ready to settle down, find a mate with lots of money.

I’ll answer. Nothing is necessarily wrong with it.

So why doesn’t everybody do it?

Well, for one, there are only so many single, rich, people. Shockingly, they get scooped up pretty quickly.

Let me steel man both sides:

  1. Men and women who marry for money are materialistic, gold diggers: The world is full of intelligent, attractive, kind, caring, loving people who weren’t born with silver spoons in their mouths.
