I agree the current state of masculinity is dangerously toxic. It's true heterosexual relationships - in large measure - have been horrendous for women. Some gender disparities have been equalized by women surpassing men educationally and financially. I disagree that men need women more then women need men. Emotional and sexual desire seem pretty evenly distributed to me. I wish men weren't so prone to violent outbursts and rage and could mature at a younger age. In order for men to "catch up" they have to be engaged and somehow welcomed by women (and society) There has to be a way to create safe relationships, marriages, and families. Young men need positive male role models and can't just be written off as a lost generation. Some days I'm wildly optimistic and other days I'm hopelessly pessimistic. Thank you so much for your thoughtful engagement, Peita.
