Taxes

I used to believe it was possible for Congress to create laws that would tax billionaires at the same rate as their secretaries. But let’s be honest, Washington is such a cesspool of bribery, lobbying, and corruption, the very rich will always find a way to “legally” avoid paying taxes.

Ironically, Leona Helmsley was correct when she said, “Only the little people pay taxes.” She had the balls to say it out loud. She went to jail almost 30 years ago in 1992. How many other uber-rich folks can you name in the past 30 years who’ve gone to jail for tax evasion? It’s exceedingly rare.

Breaking up monopolies and too big to fail banks is the only way for wealth to trickle down. If wealth keeps consolidating into fewer and fewer hands, we will no longer be able to afford entitlements and people will rebel.

All those Trump supporters are ripe to be converted to Bernie Sanders-like democrats if they find themselves unable to provide for their families despite being willing to work hard and pay taxes.

Guns

There may have been a time in our country where strict gun control laws would’ve made sense. But that time has passed.
