Politics, pandemics, inflation, and war…yet the human spirit soars

It’s the best of times; it’s the craziest of times…

Almost overnight, we went from thinking $2.49 gas was too high, sneezing on our co-workers was no longer funny, and realizing that losing our minds when Obama wore earth tones, was not normal.

Perspective, Huh?

Now, we’re fighting over guns, morality, sexuality, abortion, education, gay and transgender rights, whether authoritarianism is wicked or cool, and whether we should hide our heads in the sand as a crazy man murders innocents abroad.

You can feel it in the air. An indescribable — alternating — sense of euphoria and dread. One moment we’re skipping along with the deliciousness of life: good friends, a loving family, the fresh wind in our hair….the next minute we’re wondering how long we could live off a few bottles of spring water, two cans of tuna, and a bag of frozen hot dog buns when the nuclear bombs start hitting.

Are we living or dying?

Are we experiencing the dissolution of the American culture?

To marry, or not. To go to college, or not. To be monogamous, or not. To have…
