Cognitive dissonance abounds.

I read blogs, newspaper articles, and thoughtful newsletters about how women hate men because so many are violent, misogynistic, pigs….yet social media is loaded with images of women instructing girls — not to avoid men — but to make sure they find a wealthy one or they will be miserable in life.

Forget great sex.

Don’t worry about good parenting skills.

Loyalty? Meh.

It’s the money, honey.

So, let's get the morality out of the way….

If you think money doesn’t — or shouldn’t — matter in a relationship or marriage you are likely a very noble, kind, pragmatic, caring, and thoughtful person.

I tend to think that way. Why should money matter when it comes to love?

Shouldn’t people be happy simply having each other, even if it means they’re a little cold in the winter and sometimes go to bed hungry?

Of course, some people are more materialistic than others. And those with money spend it differently.

There are endless stories of people who won the lottery and blew it all in casinos, bad real estate deals, doing drugs, or…
