Thanks for this thoughtful response. I think a lot of people (particularly those born in the smartphone age) are underestimating how much social media socially engineers our thoughts and behaviors by grouping us into echo chambers of the like-minded who spend all day reinforcing their beliefs with no chance for pushback or debate. As a man, I have learned from feminists that not having to worry about being undressed by a man's gaze or, worse, sexually abused or physically attacked, makes men's lives significantly easier in terms of getting through their day-to-day. So, I do understand why some paint with such a broad brush. As we agree, getting away from the social media madness and magnification of violence and getting to know people in person again might lead to more trust. Thanks so much, Sherian.
