The Customer Is Never Right

I never believed the customer was always right, that’s too extreme.

But we’re now entering an age where the customer is ALWAYS wrong….even when they’re right….the pendulum has really swung!

It used to be most employees — even mid and upper-level managers would quake in their boots if a customer asked to speak with the manager.

Now, the only thing worse than being called a serial murderer is being called a Karen.

Customers are so intimidated lately that I recently watched a lady order a cheeseburger with no lettuce, tomato, or mayonnaise. She received a bun with no burger but lots of lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise.

And…..instead of returning it, she removed the dreaded lettuce and tomato, scraped off the mayonnaise, closed it, and, for $11.68, enjoyed a meatless, bun sandwich.

Did I ask her why she didn’t ask for an actual burger to be included in her cheeseburger?

I didn’t have to.

The cashier and manager had such an evil, make-my-day, vicious stare it would’ve made a 3-year-old pee in their pants.

So…..she ate her warm, sesame seed, bun plain and appreciated the crispy deliciousness of the French fries as a consolation.
