Love thy enemy….but carry a big stick

I’ll be an authoritarian for civility

Lefties will always push for freedom, respect, and dignity for women, gays, trans, minorities, and any disenfranchised, marginalized group…that is what they do…and our country needs a vibrant political force supporting that underrepresented constituency.

Righties are pushing for freedom, respect, and dignity around gun rights and fetal viability (life), and will frequently, unabashedly push for their Christian morals, ethics, and principles to be infused (if not codified) into the laws of the land.

Those in the middle tend to be infinitely less sexy than firebrands, screamers, protesters, and those prone to an all-or-nothing mindset.

LGBTQ+ folks want to be treated with the same respect as every other American, yet there are huge (oftentimes silent) constituencies of voters (suburban moms) who have deep respect for the gay community but do not want their children to “turn out that way.” This is a difficult topic to openly and honestly discuss because those on the extremes tow a fine line between respecting others' cultures, races, sexualities, and religions, and embracing them as their own.
