But is love conscious of us?

Mind and body

We’re entering a phase of humanity where people recognize there is a difference between their mind and their body — as if the two sometimes coexist and other times are separate entities.

We know how chemicals, food, and drugs affect our bodies — there is a scientific, biological explanation…a predictable cause and effect.

We know many things make our bodies feel good, including other people.

We know some people who make our bodies feel good don’t permeate our minds very much — like one-night stands.

Yet others make us weak in the knees by just looking at us.

And a very few, penetrate our minds so deeply, we call it love.

Why?!?

Who decides which people become so ingrained and embedded in our psyches we feel we could spend eternity with them?

Theory 1: Subconsciously determined

One possibility is we simply like some people more than others the way we like certain types of chocolate or wine or soda or pizza better than others.

Some love dark chocolate, some love deep dish pizza — others thin crust, some drink diet, others regular.
