When love is endemic

Why we remain hooked on some people, and not others, is a mystery — it all starts out the same way: flirtation, a date, the kiss, a big bang, a sense of mystery and intrigue.

But sometimes, something lingers — a magical, chemical, emotional, and spiritual connection so strong, so synaptically explosive, the fumes they leave in its aftermath make it impossible to ever truly let them go.

Some people vibrate our molecules in ways we can’t possibly understand — they excite us at a foundational level — they infuse us with soothing confidence and power. They don’t say much, but they don’t have to, because every now and then we catch them looking at us in that way — you know, the quick glare revealing their vulnerability and letting us know they’re just as mystified by…
