You Are What You Eat…

Nope, you are who you meet…

I am continuously interested and excited by social, sexual, romantic, and plutonic relationships and how those whom we bring into our lives affect our state of mind, personalities, and future choices.

Some say you are what you eat, but, in truth, we are who we meet.

Aside from our parents, who we meet — on purpose, or by happenchance — often defines our careers, whether we have children, where we live, who we associate with, and our overall lifestyle.

If I had to choose a focus for next year it would likely be to further examine issues of the heart, the mind, the body, and the spirit, to the extent they matter in our lives.

I’m also endlessly fascinated by what defines success in a person. Is it their intelligence, their education, their money, their looks, their personality, their reliability, their loyalty…

And who is influencing us: our parents, our friends, our lovers, our boyfriends or girlfriends, the clergy, the media, Instagram, TikTok, or ourselves?

Aren’t we all looking for that glorious middle ground where we retain our freedom to do whatever we wish, while honoring, respecting, and listening to those we value most?

So much in life is fleeting. We’re beautiful and popular one moment, then we’re not…
